When Life Gives You Lemons...

... Make Sugar-Free Lemonade : )

There always comes a time (or a few) in a weight-loss journey when you look down at the scale (or into the mirror) and you are disappointed.

Many people know that even though you may not be losing unwanted weight, you could possibly be losing inches. So tracking your bust, arm, waist, thigh and hip measurements may be a good idea.

Here are some other tips on how you can get your mojo back:
1.) Go shopping! I am not saying you have to buy anything but trying on clothes can be a great way of proving to yourself you really are making progress. This also works for trying on clothes from your closet. Go ahead and put on a one-woman fashion show!
2.) Hang out with friends! Surrounding yourself with supportive positive people, who love you, is always a source of encouragement. You can use this time to share your feelings or to just get out of your head for a little while (...and enjoy some laughs).

3.) Stop the negative self-talk! We tend to feed ourselves negative thoughts as a way of stay motivated while losing weight. You know the old saying: You can catch more flies with honey then with vinegar. The SAME applies to with dealing with yourself.

4.) Do something creative! Nothing can quite give you a sense of worth like creating something. So bust out the strings bow, paintbrush, microphone, camera, pen & paper, dancing shoes or whatever it is you use to create ART. Not the artsy type, try a BYOB painting class. They focus more on expressing yourself and having fun. So even though you do receive instruction, there is no right or "wrong way" to create.

5.) Sign up for a fun new fitness class! Take a break from your same old workout routine and try some new fitness craze (like Aqua Zumba or Aerial Silks). This works in two ways: 1.) The endorphins and excitement will lighten your mood. 2.) You may just find your new fave way to burn calories and/or tone up that bod.

Do you see a pattern with this suggestions? They can all be Mix and Matched. You can try an Aerial Silks class with some friends. You can paint or sing or write a poem featuring some positive affirmations. You can go shopping for your fitness class with friends. Possiblities are Endless!

So whatever works for you, just remember that you are Amazing. Now go out there and Work It!

Since I know I missed some things, please share your suggestions below...
